Action Cue Construction & Variety

Action has built its reputation over more than 25 years by offering more design variety than almost any other cue brand — including detailed inlay work and eye-catching decal graphics — without pricing that variety out of reach. Each cue is built for reliable, consistent performance, making Action a trusted choice whether you're picking up a cue for casual play or league competition.

Action Cue Specifications: What to Expect

Most Action cues share the same core shaft construction: a 29" hard rock maple shaft with a 10"–12" pro taper. Where models differ is in the tip, ferrule, and pin setup — Action builds most of its lineup around two main configurations:

Layered Tip Build:

• Tip: 13mm, 7-layer vacuum-sealed proprietary boar skin tip
• Ferrule: 1" fiber linen ferrule
• Shaft: 29" hard rock maple, 10"–12" pro taper
• Pin: 5/16x18

Phenolic Combo Build:

• Tip & Ferrule: 13mm black phenolic tip and ferrule combination (7/8" one-piece)
• Shaft: 29" hard rock maple, 10"–12" pro taper
• Pin: Action Quick Release

Check the specifications listed on each individual cue to confirm which build it uses — both are built on the same reliable shaft construction, so the choice mostly comes down to your preferred tip feel and joint style.
