The McDermott FERMCD Ivorine III Ferrule is the official factory-replacement ferrule used on standard McDermott shaft assemblies, including classic McDermott maple shafts and the GS Series cues.

• Material: Genuine Ivorine III® — a high-density, linen-based thermoset composite originally developed as a durable ivory alternative. It delivers exceptional impact resistance, consistent hit feedback, and high resistance to chalk staining.

• Application: Specifically engineered as a direct factory replacement for McDermott pool cue shafts.

Technical Specifications

• Length: 1 1/8 inches (1.125").
• Outer Diameter (OD): 5/8 inch (0.625" / approx. 15.8 mm) — shipped oversized to allow turning down flush to your shaft's diameter during lathe installation.
• Inner Diameter (ID):
  • 1/4 inch (0.250") at the threaded end.
  • Internal shoulder transitions to 3/8 inch (0.375") to fit flush over standard McDermott wood tenons.
• Internal Threading: Pre-threaded interior wall designed to thread directly onto McDermott’s standard wood tenon pin prior to gluing.

Installation Requirements

1. Machining Required: Installation requires a cue repair lathe. Because the ferrule is shipped oversized (approx. 15.8 mm), it must be glued to the wood tenon, turned down to match the exact taper of the shaft (typically from 13 mm down to 12.75 mm), and polished to a high sheen.
2. Adhesive Compatibility: Works best with slow-cure epoxy or toughened cyanoacrylate (CA) gel formulated specifically for pool cue repair.
